The role of the Principal Engineer is to assist the Head of MRO in planning and supervise MRO engineer. This role also needs to ensure and adherence to safety regulations, industry standards and trade compliance activities is carried out.
Primary Duties:
Reporting to Head of MRO, you will have the following key responsibilities:
- Assist the MRO Head in planning and executing MRO strategies, ensuring all activities align with organizational goals.
- Supervise MRO engineers, providing guidance and support to foster a high-performance culture within the team.
- Coordinate and liaise with customers on any MRO related matters.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies throughout MRO operations.
- Assist in the development and management of the MRO budget, tracking expenditure and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Analyze maintenance metrics and performance indicators to inform decision-making and improve reliability of equipment.
- Liaise with suppliers and service providers to ensure timely availability of parts and services needed for maintenance activities.
- Support the training and development of MRO staff to enhance skills and knowledge in maintenance practices.
- Ensure adherence to all domestic and international trade regulations, including customs laws, export controls, and sanctions.
- Perform regular audits of trade activities and transactions and prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies.
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate and comprehensive records related to trade compliance activities

Qualifications and Experience and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, export controls, and customs compliance. (e.g. ITAR) or a related role is an advantage.
- Occasional overseas travelling is required.
