As a Solutions Materials Category Supplier Manager for Passive (such as Capacitors, Resistors and Inductors), you will be in charge of developing a category strategy for managed categories, validating strategies with Global and Regional Category Managers/s and the respective internal partners and collaborators. This includes working with a multi-site team to develop and perform price negotiations for global materials, research and publish market information related to supply, costs, and supplier financials and supplier manufacturing capacities.
You are required conducting strategic sourcing initiatives, plan and conduct negotiations using supplier and industry analysis, benchmark and cost management related to a specific set of materials.
Through management of the category strategy, you will also be building positive relationships with internal collaborators, driving outstanding cost, supply and resilience.
Responsibilities:
- Build and perform Strategic Sourcing and Category Management Plan
- Work with direct and cross-functional teams (e.g., Micron business units, manufacturing, engineering, quality and site purchasing teams) to plan strategic sourcing direction for category
- Build, develop and lead a global key materials team
- Recommend targets for spend reduction, purchasing efficiency, customer services and supplier management
- Implement effective supplier negotiations and cost reductions
- Identify and implement category specific savings levers
- Recommend resource levels across procurement sourcing categories, projects and functions
- Supervise and adjust category compliance (e.g. risk, spend, quality, supplier segmentation, management)
- Keep track the implementation of sourcing strategies and contract compliance and participate in the resolution of any constraints or issues
- Deliver category savings and scorecard metric targets
- Communicate sourcing trends and results for assigned categories to the Category Director
- Maintain supplier segmentation map for category; build partnerships with strategic suppliers
- Build senior level supplier relationships
- Handle supplier performance evaluation (SCORECARD)
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or supply chain management, preferably in the electronics or hardware industry.
- Validated experience in developing and driving global category strategies and sourcing initiatives.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of delivering cost savings and value.
- Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex market data and financial information.
- Proficient in procurement and supply chain management software and tools.
- Strong project management skills to lead cross-functional teams and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relation with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Strong understanding of supplier management, risk management, and compliance.
- Ability to work effectively in a global, multi-site environment.
- Deep understanding of the enclosures and hardware (connectors, screws, etc.) market, including supply dynamics, cost drivers, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with industry trends, standard methodologies, and regulatory requirements related to the assigned categories.
- Knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies and tools.
- Professional certifications in supply chain management or procurement (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, CPM) are a plus
