Responsibilities:
- Ensure OHSAS compliance for School of Life Sciences, upkeep lab cleanliness and daily waste disposal
- Track and report stock and inventory of supplies and reagents required for the labs and replenish low supplies
- Timely procurement of all necessary chemicals, biological tools and general consumables
- Perform successful trial runs for all practical sessions
- Ensure complete and timely setups and running of all laboratory sessions for the School of Life Sciences
- Arrange for all scheduled equipment calibration/ servicing
- Ensure maintenance of all necessary laboratory documentation and arrange for license renewals
- Arrange, schedule and manage lab volunteers throughout the academic year
- Liaise with fellow lab staff, lecturers, university partners and any other external parties on matters pertaining to materials required for each module's lab requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences with at least 1 to 2 years of technical experience in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Lab work
- Possess excellent organisational and planning skills
- Proactive problem solver and team spirited
- Able to work on day shifts
