Broad Function:
As part of the technical services team, the Dept Manager is responsible for managing and control of the lab polymerization facilities. They need to design, optimizing for creating polymer materials and support the production processes such as scale up, trouble shooting and improvement.
Job Description
1. Ensure and manage employees’ performance and development
- Provie guidance and coach team to achieve targeted performance.
- Conduct regular check-ins with the team and provide feedback on performance.
- Conduct engagement activities and discuss the developmental needs of the team.
2. Involve in the strategic development and policymaking & change management for the company
- Participate in management meetings and discussions on policy formulation
- Lead, manage and role model change initiatives in the Company
- Budgeting and financial management
3. Collaborate with internal teams, including R&D to provide feedback on customer requirements and provide timely updates on development progress

5. Technical Development
- Overseeing projects related to polymer synthesis, characterization, and application development.
- Analysing experimental data to draw conclusions, identify trends, and make informed decisions about development direction
- Collaborate with related department to ensure smooth integration of new polymers into existing production lines.
- Developing a strategy for protecting intellectual property through patents
6. Laboratory Management
- Ensure safety and compliance of ACM polymerization laboratory.
- Training of new lab staff.
- Lab work planning and scheduling.
- Equipment & spare parts management.
6. Others
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the management
Requirements:
- Degree in chemical engineering, Polymer synthesis chemistry, or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of relevant working experience
- In depth knowledge of polymerization mechanism and kinetics.
- Expertise in polymer characterization evaluation techniques.
