- Cost Estimation
•Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) projects;
•Analyze and evaluate project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and associated costs; - Quantity Take-off
•Perform quantity take-offs for materials and labour required for MEP installations;
•Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive quantity assessments; - Budgeting and Cost-control
•Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle;
•Monitor and report on cost variations, providing recommendations for cost-saving measures; - Tendering and Procurement
•Assist in the preparation of tender documents and participate in the procurement process;
•Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring competitiveness and adherence to project requirements; - Contract Administration
•Administer and manage contracts related to MEP works, including variations and claims;
•Monitor contractual compliance and resolve any disputes that may arise during the project; - Value Engineering
•Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality;
•Work closely with design and construction teams to implement value engineering recommendations; - Risk Management
•Identify and assess potential risks related to cost and contract issues;
•Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure project success; - Cost Reporting
•Generate regular cost reports to keep stakeholders informed of project financial status;
•Provide analysis and recommendations based on cost reporting data; - Collaboration
•Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders;
•Participate in project meetings and contribute to the overall success of the project; - Regulatory Compliance
•Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in MEP construction;
•Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and best practices; - Ad-Hoc
•Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work;
•Other Ad-hoc duties as assigned by the HOD.
Requirements:
- Degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying / Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University.
- Minimum 5 years of related working experiences in industrial, commercial or data-centre projects.
- Good working knowledge in Mechanical and Electrical.
- Organizational skill with attention to detail, adaptable and flexible.
- Good communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work well in a team, independently and demonstrate initiative and commitment.
