Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies and negotiations for terminal operations, including partnerships with global terminal operators.
- Manage and nurture vendor relationships to ensure optimal performance, and negotiate contracts for cost-effectiveness and compliance.
- Conduct market research and analysis to assess potential suppliers’ capabilities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with network and service needs.
- Conduct regular performance reviews of terminal vendors, including on-site audits, to ensure quality and reliability.
- Ensure proper resource allocation for vessels at terminals.
- Identify inefficiencies and assess risks related to vendors not meeting service agreements and company standards.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with industry regulations and company policies, including knowledge of local regulations to mitigate risks.
- Understand and apply company policies related to sustainable procurement, supporting initiatives that meet sustainability scorecards.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes while promoting sustainable practices that benefit the company.
- Work closely with local operations teams to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Prioritize the reduction of non-essential costs through internal efficiencies or vendor partnerships.
- Identify and address system or process misalignments to drive cost standardization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in shipping, logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in the maritime industry.
- Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and critical thinking capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
