Work Location: Hougang (School Environment)
Working Hours: Mondays to Thursdays: 7.00 am to 4.00pm, Fridays: 7.00am to 3.30pm, inclusive of 30min lunch break
Contract Period: 1 Jan 2025 to 31 Oct 2025.
Job Description
- To prepare and distribute ingredients before start of practical lessons daily.
- To assist in weekly food ordering and collect ingredients upon delivery by vendor.
- To check that the vendor has delivered all the ordered ingredients.
- To store food ingredients accordingly to food safety standards.
- To perform inventory checks in NFS Special Rooms.
- To maintain the quality of utensils and cooking equipment.
- To upkeep maintenance of NFS Special Rooms (Kitchens, Office, Classroom) including cleanliness of Cookery Room and equipment including cleaning of worktops and mopping of kitchen floor daily.
- To perform simple office tasks to support teacher in the kitchen or NFS room such as helping to lay out laptops and accounting of ICT peripherals used for teaching & learning thereafter.
- To perform general cleaning of NFS rooms and other special rooms A&T Special Rooms every Friday and June/Sep school holidays as tasked by HOD in-charge.
Job Requirement
- Have at least 1 year working experience working in school kitchens or commercial kitchens.
- The Personnel should preferably have the following qualifications and skills:
- Possess good knowledge in food and kitchen safety; skillful in food handling with relevant certification preferred (e.g Food Safety Course Level 1 by ITE, WSQ Food Hygiene Course (Food Safety Course Level 1), Food Safety Course Level 1 by SHATEC).
- Able to work well in a dynamic environment.
- A team player with good organisation, time management and communication skills.
- Have a Pass in PSLE to communicate well with students, food supply vendors and maintenance contractors.
