DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER - BUSINESS OPERATIONS

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to oversee and optimize all financial operations for our Singapore office. This critical role involves navigating an extensive and multifaceted financial environment, requiring a unique blend of strategic foresight, technical expertise, and hands-on management.

The ideal candidate will possess an exceptional ability to manage diverse financial functions while ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory frameworks. Success in this role demands superior analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in financial stewardship.


Key Responsibilities:

Operational Review

• Supervise and execute daily financial transactions, payments, and intercompany reconciliations.

• Ensure accuracy in monthly reconciliations of bank and financial transactions.

• Lead daily collection processes and implement efficient client payment follow-ups.

• Collaborate with delivery teams to implement cutting-edge tools and technologies.

• Identify and execute process improvements for operational and business efficiency.

• Support sales and Delivery team on their day-to-day issues related to new job order and contracts.

• Review and approve of all legal contracts.


Financial Reporting

• Guarantee timely and accurate reporting of financial results with in-depth commentary.

• Deliver Hyperion reports on a strict T+4 timeline.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in finance processes across entities.


Treasury and Banking

• Develop and submit detailed monthly cash flow forecasts.

• Manage bank guarantees, including issuance, renewal, and returns.

• Proactively monitor overdue accounts receivables and irregularities.

• Oversee dividend and loan repayments to HQ, ensuring monthly accuracy.


Policy, Internal Controls & Compliance

• Establish and enforce a robust SOX-based internal controls framework.

• Ensure compliance with evolving FRS standards and regulatory requirements.

• Monitor trends in accounting regulations and drive compliance readiness.

• Act as the key liaison for internal audit reviews and policy adjustments.


Statutory Accounts and Audit

• Own and optimize bookkeeping processes for all country entities.

• Coordinate annual financial audits and ensure prompt resolution of findings.

• Serve as the primary contact for external auditors.


Taxation

• Oversee all tax-related matters, ensuring on-time statutory filings.

• Proactively manage group-wide tax compliance and reporting in Singapore.


Financial Planning and Analysis

• Partner with the Country Manager to develop and refine budgets and forecasts.

• Provide in-depth financial analyses to guide strategic decisions (e.g., RFQs, pricing, CapEx).

• Evaluate and challenge business plans, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.


Monthly Business Review

• Analyze monthly financial results with a focus on profitability and cost control.

• Identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights to support decision-making.

• Collaborate with management to prepare KPI reports and variance analyses.


Finance Information Systems

• Oversee the integration and reconciliation of data between SAP, Hyperion, and Zoho Analytics.

• Ensure monthly consistency in financial reporting systems and resolve discrepancies.


General Responsibilities

• Uphold ethical standards, confidentiality, and adherence to company policies.

• Mentor junior finance team members, fostering a culture of growth and succession planning.



Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accountancy, or a related field.

• 6–10 years of progressive finance leadership experience.

• Proven expertise in staffing or recruitment industries (mandatory).

• Advanced knowledge of IFRS, financial accounting standards, and local tax compliance.

• Demonstrated proficiency in cash flow management, strategic planning, and execution.

• Hands-on experience with SAP, Zoho Analytics, and Hyperion financial systems.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Willing to support on shifts & Weekend support.
