The Landscape Technician looks after a designated area's trees, shrubs, flowers and other plants. His/Her daily tasks for the general care of plants include watering, pruning, weeding, fertilizing and pest control. He/She is required to have a good degree of time management and may have to schedule certain tasks to coincide with periods where visitorship to the area under his/her care is low. He/She uses various hand tools and motorised equipment to perform his/her daily tasks and is expected to be able to perform basic maintenance on those. The Landscape Technician must be comfortable working outdoors under all weather conditions.
- Apply pesticides to control unwanted pests and diseases.
- Cut and prune plants to maintain the landscape attractiveness.
- Maintain and repair hand tools and equipment.
