The Director of Psychology and Behaviour Support leads a dedicated team of psychologists, associate psychologists, and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) specialists to provide organisation-wide support services, enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programme and Intervention Development – Designing and implementing support programmes with PBS as a foundational approach, alongside other strategies such as environmental and visual supports, crisis response, and trauma-informed practices.
- Clinical Supervision and Team Development – Overseeing clinical supervision to deepen the team’s expertise and expand their competencies, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Staff Training and Mentorship – Providing training and mentoring to frontline staff in educational, day activity, and residential settings, empowering them to better support individuals with developmental needs in their daily interactions.
- Collaborative Case Management – Working closely with allied health professionals and frontline leaders to deliver holistic, multidisciplinary care tailored to beneficiaries with higher support needs.
Requirements:
- Professional Registration – Full registration with a recognised psychological accreditation body that qualifies the candidate to provide clinical supervision.
- Training in PBS – Prior training in Positive Behaviour Support is preferred, although training will be provided if necessary.
- Leadership Skills – Prior leadership experience is ideal, though high-potential candidates without it may be considered.
