Get to Know the Role
You will expand and manage our merchant network, onboard new merchant partners, maintain relationships, and ensure their continued success. You will pitch, negotiate, and close deals will be crucial, as will your capacity to handle merchant queries and collaborate with our teams to maximise our commercial impact. You will report to Director, Commercial, Acquisition & Head of SG GrabAds and be based onsite in our Singapore office.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Manage full cycle sales to meet, pitch, and lead negotiations with assigned and prospected merchant leads to acquire and onboard them to Grab.
- Champion Grab's value proposition as the leader of choice for merchants.
- Engage with merchants from diverse establishments, building relationships and managing their performance.
- Handle daily merchant queries (commercial and operational) and ensure a smooth onboarding and post-onboarding process.
- Stay up to date with market trends, industry knowledge, and competitor activities to contribute to strategic planning.
- Collaborate with the Account Management Team and other departments (e.g., GrabPay, GrabAds, GrabRewards) to align and cross-sell, enhancing the value Grab brings to merchants.
- Acquire and develop sales opportunities through referrals, networking, cold calls, and face-to-face meetings.
- Maintain organised and accurate sales information and activity reports in the CRM System.
- Assess prospects' marketing and sales requirements, propose appropriate promotion mechanics, and meet sales targets.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Bachelor's Degree or higher education in business, economics or relevant fields
- At least 2 years of experience in sales and business development with a successful track record
- Experience to build relationship and win over merchants
- Proficient in written and spoken English. Proficiency in Mandarin is beneficial for engaging Mandarin-speaking merchants.
- Experience to analyse sales data and business sense.
- Experience to solve and handle merchant requirements and market dynamics
- Proficiency using CRM systems to maintain sales records and manage activities.
- Experience in retail or e-commerce is advantageous.
- Experience adapting to changing situations quickly and manage multi tasks.
