Job Description:

1. Conduct EHS Training Programs

Design, develop, and deliver engaging training sessions tailored to different employee groups (e.g., workers, supervisors, managers), ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

2. Develop Training Materials

Create clear, practical, and visually engaging materials such as presentations, manuals, handouts, and e-learning modules to support effective learning across various roles and job functions.

3. Customize Training for Diverse Roles

Adapt training content to address specific safety and health risks associated with different trades and job functions, ensuring relevancy for everyone from entry-level workers to experienced supervisors.

4. Evaluate Training Effectiveness

Assess training success through post-training evaluations, quizzes, practical assessments, and on-site observations to ensure that knowledge is retained and applied correctly in the workplace.

5. Tracking and Reporting Training Metrics

Maintain comprehensive training records, monitor employee progress, track certifications and renewals, and report on training outcomes, effectiveness, and areas for improvement, identifying compliance gaps or trends in safety incidents.

6. Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment

Train employees to identify, report, and manage potential hazards, emphasizing proactive measures, risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring all workers understand their responsibility in maintaining a safe environment.

7. Compliance Monitoring

Regularly update training programs to reflect changes in safety regulations, best practices, and industry standards, ensuring full compliance with local and international laws.

8. Consult with EHS and HR Teams

Work closely with EHS and HR departments to determine training needs, address emerging safety issues, and ensure that training objectives align with the company's overall safety culture and policies.

9. Lead New Hire Orientation

Facilitate comprehensive EHS orientation sessions for new employees, introducing them to safety protocols, PPE requirements, emergency procedures, and hazard awareness specific to their roles and construction site conditions.

10. Promote a Safety Culture

Foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization by communicating the importance of safety, encouraging engagement, and reinforcing positive behaviours among all employees.

11. Analyse Incident Trends and Provide Feedback

Review safety incidents and near-miss reports to identify patterns or areas needing improvement, providing constructive feedback to management and making necessary adjustments to training programs.


Requirements:

  1. Experience: 15+ years in EHS, with at least 5 years in construction and minimum 3 years as a full-time EHS trainer.
  2. Knowledge of Regulations: Strong understanding of Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) laws, Standards and Code of Practices (COP).
  3. Education: Degree in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental or equivalent.
  4. Certifications: Preferably a Registered WSH Officer (WSHO) or Environmental Control Officer (ECO); ISO 45001/14001is a plus.
  5. Communication: Able to explain safety practices clearly to all levels of staff
  6. Languages: Fluent in English and able to communicate in Mandarin; communicating in Hokkien is a bonus.
  7. Technical Skills: Familiar with EHS software, like Novade, VR training tools, and Microsoft Office.
  8. Mobility: Willing to travel to job sites within Singapore.
  9. Physical Fitness: Able to conduct site visits and wear PPE when needed.
