Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a full-time professional to join our dynamic and growing organisation in Singapore. This role involves working on sustainable finance projects across numerous Asian countries.
The successful candidate will be working daily on Environmental & Social (E&S) related projects with Financial Institutions focused on emerging markets.
The candidate must have experience working in the E&S/Sustainable Finance space. The successful candidate must be an effective communicator and project manager with a strong work ethic and a proactive, can-do attitude as the role is dynamic and will require the management of multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously.
The role will entail the following:
· Leading and managing environmental and social (E&S) Due Diligence and project managing independent monitoring in emerging markets;
· Development and implementation of E&S Management Systems, delivery of E&S Training and Capacity Building and other E&S Strategy advisory work for financial institutions (e.g. TCFD, 2x Challenge, etc.);
· Desktop work and site visits to companies operating in a wide variety of sectors e.g. renewable energy, agribusiness, manufacturing, infrastructure, finance, etc.;
· Working with a wide variety of financial institutions;
· Working with other subject matter experts to develop tools, distil insights and knowledge into guidance and strategies for clients;
· Project leadership and management, including being responsible for day-to-day aspects of project deliverables, resourcing, site visit planning, financial management and client liaison;
· Business development and sales to new and existing clients;
· Preparing and delivering proposals and marketing materials;
· Building and managing working relationships with clients and other stakeholders in the industry;
· Developing and enhancing our technical service offerings to clients; and
· Actively recruiting, mentoring and coaching team members to their highest potential.
Requirements of the candidate:
· Experience delivering medium and large due diligence assessments in emerging markets across a wide range of sectors with familiarity with standards such as IFC Performance Standards, ADB Safeguards, AIIB ESF, Equator Principles etc. is required;
· An ability to analyse and interpret technical information to understand and articulate potential E&S risks and opportunities and commercial implications for a business and to be able to propose pragmatic solutions to mitigate / enhance these;
· An entrepreneurial spirit with an ability to spot and contribute to turning larger market trends into opportunities for clients and IBIS;
· A passion for sustainability, and driving value through improved environmental and social performance and impact;
· Proficiency in English (verbal and written) is essential and the ability to speak other Asian languages is advantageous;
· Experience and skills to supervise project team(s), coach and mentor junior staff;
· Excellent attention to detail and a focus on high quality outputs; and
· Excellent people skills, being able to engage and foster relationships across geographies and cultures.
Qualifications and experience:
· An academic background in Environmental Science or Social Sciences is preferred, although consideration will be given to candidates with a broad range of qualifications if their experience is appropriate;
· Practical experience in emerging markets; and
· Consulting experience is essential.
