A highly experienced and skilled Design Manager with minimum of 15 years of civil engineering or architecture experience post-tertiary education and hold professional status. The candidate should have a proven track record of managing design teams on projects for large scale of Design & Build nature of industrial or treatment process plant. The Design Manager must be well-versed with regulatory agencies’ requirements and standards.
Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage design Consultant teams to deliver high-quality design solutions on time and within budget.
· Oversee the entire design process, from concept through to detailed design and construction documentation.
· Ensure designs meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
· Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and consultants.
· Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
· Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers and engineers.
· Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders on design-related matters.
· Conduct regular meetings and presentations to update clients on project progress and address any concerns.
· Ensure client requirements are accurately captured and reflected in the design.
· Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of design.
· Review and approve design documents, drawings, and specifications.
· Conduct regular design audits and peer reviews to maintain quality and consistency.
· Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
· Liaise with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary approvals and permits.
· Stay updated on changes in regulations and standards and ensure designs are adapted accordingly.
· Provide technical leadership and expertise in civil engineering or architecture.
· Resolve complex design challenges and technical issues.
· Stay informed about the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
· Master’s degree is preferred.
· Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in civil engineering or architecture.
· Proven experience in managing design teams on complex projects.
· Experience in the design of multi-storey bus depots or similar structures is preferred.
· Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) status.
· Strong leadership and team management skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proficiency in design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM).
· In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
