Job Overview:
As an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems that are integral to the construction and operation of this large-scale waste management facility. You will work closely with the Project Manager and other engineers to ensure that all electrical work meets regulatory and safety standards while supporting the overall goals of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Electrical Design & Planning:
- Develop and review electrical design drawings, schematics, and blueprints for the project.
- Ensure that designs comply with all relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards.
- Provide input into the selection of materials, equipment, and suppliers.
2. Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into the larger project.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and electrical teams on-site to ensure smooth execution of electrical works.
- Monitor electrical work progress and ensure that it adheres to project timelines and quality standards.
3. Installation & Testing:
- Supervise the installation of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
- Conduct and oversee testing and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure functionality and safety.
4. Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure that all electrical work complies with local building codes, electrical codes, and safety regulations.
- Implement safety procedures and conduct regular inspections to prevent electrical hazards.
5. Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues with electrical systems during installation or operation.
- Provide ongoing maintenance support and adjustments as necessary throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Documentation:
- Prepare detailed reports, including technical documentation, testing results, and system performance summaries.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical work, including specifications, diagrams, and progress updates.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the construction industry.
- Knowledge: Familiar with electrical systems, building codes, and safety regulations related to construction projects.
- Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Proficiency with electrical design software.
- Certifications: Any relevant certifications, such as Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) or equivalent, will be an advantage.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
