Overview
As a Maintenance Engineer (Senior / Assistant), you are responsible for maintaining and repairing the heavy machinery, plant equipment, tools and systems used in the manufacturing, engineering and other industrial production processes. You are to ensure that all machineries and equipment are in good working conditions as and when are needed.
Responsibilities
- Manage, oversee and lead the Maintenance team to ensure minimum downtime of Facility, Machinery and Equipment.
- Strategize on maintenance regime, maintenance supplies, work instruction and methods.
- Create plant preventative maintenance procedures and schedules.
- Conduct routine inspections and periodic maintenance checks on machines to keep them running smoothly.
- Plan equipment upgrading and machinery modifications for improvement or prolong efficiency.
- Plan, order, replenish, inventory keeping of machinery parts.
- Analyze gaps to ensure programmes meets customers’ and company requirements.
- Analyze breakdowns, diagnose faults and supervise time critical equipment repairs.
- Offer technical expertise and necessary in-house training to Maintenance team, Operations team (i.e.: supervisor, foreman, fitters, technicians, etc.) and others.
- Manage budget for current and future equipment upgrades, replacements and maintenances.
- Resource, coach, mentor and motivate direct reports to create a high performing team.
- Ensure the cause of non-conformities are properly investigated and analyzed all corrective and preventive actions taken are effective.
- Responsible for control of maintenance cost, procurement of new components for existing equipment, or replacing the entire set of machines after a prescribed period of usage is complete.
- Ensure all ISO documentations relating to Maintenance of plant machineries are up-to-date.
- Report to Production Manager and Top Management on the performance of the quality management system including opportunities for improvements.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Management and/or the designated manager.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in maintenance in an automation / equipment manufacturing environment. OR
- Higher NITEC in Mechanical Engineering or related / Professional Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in maintenance in an automation / equipment manufacturing environment.
- Able to multi-task, work independently, proactive with positive attitude.
- Resilient, self-driven and analytical.
- A strong problem solver with an eye for detail and an analytical mind.
- Able to stand, stoop, squat and kneel for long periods of times, as well as lift, push and pull large machine parts or machines or machines as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiar with various ISO / QMS standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 45001.
- Able to work on weekends / public holidays when required.
