DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures that all hair stylists and beauticians properly welcome customers making the latter feel at ease and comfortable during their visit to the salon
- As the key advisor in the salon, advises and/or guides junior stylists in advising customers on appropriate hairstyles, colours, and treatments
- Recommends to management the appropriate hair care products and other related items
- Guarantees that customers’ hair is washed, conditioned, cut, coloured, and styled
- Keeps up with the newest haircuts, products, and trends
- Ascertains the cleaning of workstations and sanitizing of equipment all throughout the day
- Meets with suppliers and, as needed, orders fresh goods
- Keeps a sufficient availability of hair supplies and equipment on hand
- Receives customer payment for salon services rendered when needed
- Ensures that the customer's requirements are well understood by the junior hair stylists and beauticians
- Assures that treatments are performed in a comfortable, pleasant, and hygienic setting
- In coordination with the operations staff, oversees the scheduling of customer appointments with adequate time allotted for each one
- Provides clients with assistance and advice when needed, especially when offering colour services.
- Ascertains that patch testing is conducted as the case may be
- Ensures that all client record cards are filled out by junior hair stylists for all colour and perm appointments
- Keeps the work space clean and instruments sanitized after each customer
- Oversees the promotion and showing of retail items to customers
- Guarantees that complaints/customer feedback are addressed inside the salon first, with the help of the salon managers and conducts investigations as needed
- Ensures that all necessary infection control and prevention measures are followed at all times
- Reports to the senior managers any concerns that might jeopardize the health, safety, or well-being of customers or team members
- Undertakes any other assigned ad-hoc duties as the business requires
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Business, MBA or relevant fields
- Level-III Certification in Hairdressing
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years of leadership and management experience in salon operations
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Sound and strong understanding of optimising salon operations and key indicators of success
- Versatile and independent in critically analysing clients’ hair conditions, and possesses strong logical and analytical problem-solving skills
- Able to grasp business requirements and processes
- Meticulous, good organisational and operations skills
- Good communication skills
- Enjoys interacting with customers
- Strong business acumen with strategic mindset and finance-related skills
