Job Description:
- Design and implement database architecture and modeling strategies to ensure database security, scalability, and performance.
- Collaborate with the application development team to define data models and optimize database operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for principal vendors related to software and hardware.
- Provide production support, troubleshoot database issues, and participate in after-office-hours support rotation.
- Provide support to the application team on database related matters (e.g. data patching, application deployments, extracting data from database for reporting).
- Plan and strategize data mapping for data migration from legacy systems to support the deployment of the project, ensuring no data loss during conversion.
- Review data mapping and integration specifications to ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards.
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of data sync during co-existence with legacy systems.
- Develop and maintain database-related codes or scripts such as data sync scripts, data masking scripts, stored procedures etc.
- Ensure the availability of database services and servers.
- Installation and configuration of database systems and associated products.
- Ensure compliance with security vulnerabilities and patching cycles.
- Troubleshoot and remediate security vulnerabilities reported by security scan.
- Reviewing and maintaining of database accounts.
- Optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing, and capacity planning.
- Configure backup systems and monitor database health.
- Perform database hardening in accordance with industry standards.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience with Oracle, MSSQL, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, or MongoDB, including environment setup and management.
- Experience managing databases in high-availability (active-active) setups will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge in PL/SQL scripting is preferred.
- Knowledge in working with ETL and data co-existence technology with legacy systems.
- Experience with database auditing, security, and data masking products is a plus.
