Job Description:
Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT professional with a strong background in ITIL frameworks and hands-on experience in healthcare environments to join our team as a Senior Healthcare Application Specialist. This role is pivotal in supporting the development, integration, and management of web and mobile applications within hospital and healthcare settings.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and deployment of healthcare applications with a focus on ensuring compliance with ITIL best practices and service management standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UI/UX designers, and quality assurance, to define requirements and deliver scalable, high-performing applications tailored to hospital workflows.
Implement, monitor, and optimize ITIL processes to maintain service quality and ensure operational efficiency.
Manage end-to-end application lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
Perform regular code reviews and mentor junior developers to ensure adherence to best practices, code quality, and consistent delivery timelines.
Utilize Agile and Scrum methodologies to streamline development processes and prioritize project tasks.
Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations.
Maintain thorough documentation of application updates, enhancements, and incidents, aligning with ITIL standards for incident and change management.
Collaborate with hospital IT and operational staff to understand workflow needs and ensure that the solutions provided are practical, secure, and compliant with healthcare regulations.
Continuously explore emerging technologies and industry trends to integrate best practices and enhance healthcare application functionalities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Over 10 years of experience in web and mobile application development, with a minimum of 5 years in healthcare or hospital environments.
Strong background in Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, and associated frameworks such as Spring Boot, Struts2, and Hibernate.
Proficiency in mobile development, particularly Android (Java, Kotlin), and experience with iOS development.
Proven expertise in ITIL service management practices, including incident, problem, and change management.
Hands-on experience with integration technologies such as RESTful APIs, SOAP, LDAP, and various database systems like DB2 and SQLite.
Familiarity with CI/CD processes using tools like Jenkins, Maven, and Gradle.
Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum, and experience in managing sprints and project timelines.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working closely with healthcare professionals to develop user-centric solutions.
ITIL certification is preferred.
