Roles & Responsibilities
- Communicate with other discipline engineers to achieve required information.
- Understand and interpret client's requests, using knowledge of basic design concept and background knowledge of marine manufacturing.
- Read and interpret technical specification, Rules and regulations.
- Competent on hull form / lines design, hydrodynamic performance calculation (NavCAD) for speed power prediction.
- Familiar with model testing requirements and analysis test and able to interpret results.
- Familiar with different types of vessel functions and arrangement, and competent on preparing Technical Specifications and General Arrangement.
- Competent with CAD and Naval Architecture software (e.g. NavCAD, NAPA and GHS software etc.). Able to perform naval architecture calculations such as stability/hydrostatic, weight distribution, launching.
- Prepare documentation for drawing list, material list, production information, weight control, material management, delivery documents etc
- Conduct inclining experiment and lightship survey.
- Support in tendering for all ship types.
- Develop 2D engineering drawing using CAD software.
- Guide junior members of the team in terms of technical knowledge.
- Liaise with equipment vendor, vessel/ rig owner representative, classification society surveyors and other relevant authorities to resolve technical issues as and when required.
- To review and approve the vendor certified document and drawings.
- Familiar with offshore vessels designs, rules and regulations.
- Understand the principle of the machinery equipment and onboard system.
- Understand of Marine Machinery and Electrical Systems and practices
- Good communication skills, analytical skills and interpersonal relationship to interact with external customers.
- Advanced knowledge of ship design/production processes and production documentation
- Leadership qualities, Planning and Organizational abilities

- Stability, Strength, Resistance, Propulsion and Structural Design knowledge
- Well-versed with Classification and Statutory Rules and requirements Experience in whole the design process from basic design to production design.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in basic design and engineering of relevant to construction of Marine/ Offshore Units.
- Hands on experience in structure design, analysis and engineering related work
- Education and Key certifications necessary
- Engineering Degree in Naval Architecture or equivalent in Marine/Offshore Engineering.
- Must be able to draw, know Femap, Autocad
- Structure analysis and Do up reports using Microsoft Words
