The Opportunity

You will apply your knowledge and experience to shape our services, you’ll focus on client opportunities where your expertise can make a substantial impact, and motivate your team. You’ll build valuable relationships with clients and develop strong capabilities, through both formal training and working with senior mentors and talented colleagues.

We are looking for a dynamic Software/Application Manager who is capable of overseeing software development projects while also taking charge of the testing process. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the entire software development lifecycle, from planning and design to deployment and maintenance, while also leading the testing efforts to ensure the delivery of high-quality software applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Software/Application Management:
  1. Lead the software/application development team, including developers and other relevant personnel.
  2. Plan, design, and oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment and maintenance.
  3. Collaborate with project stakeholders, including project managers and business analysts, to define project requirements and timelines.
  4. Ensure software/application projects adhere to established coding standards, best practices, and quality benchmarks.
  5. Manage software/application release schedules and coordinate deployments.
  6. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to guide technical decisions.
  7. Oversee the acquisition and development of software systems in organisational units
  8. Monitor results and quality of different software solutions and projects impletemented
  9. Oversee the development of Proof-of-Concept/ solutions and provide technical expertise on the development of software and platform features, ensuring that appropriate security and risk factors are considered.
  • Testing Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  2. Execute manual and automated tests to identify defects and issues in software applications.
  3. Create and maintain test documentation and provide regular reports on test progress and results.
  4. Ensure that testing is carried out in a structured and organized manner, adhering to established testing standards and best practices.
  5. Identify and report defects, track their resolution, and verify fixes.
  6. Continuously improve the testing process by incorporating industry best practices and tools.

Qualifications:

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in any of these faculties - Computer Science, Information Technology, Programming & Systems Analysis or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of experience in a relevant industry or consulting role. Management consulting experience gained through a Big 4 or boutique consulting firm is highly desirable
  • Experience in engaging and managing a variety of stakeholders
  • Prior experience of leading team for projects and pursuits
  • Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills in English (additional local language skills are considered an asset)
