RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and oversee the filing of regular tax returns, tax audit / inquiries and notices from tax authorities, GST/VAT and withholding tax
- Lead implementation of Pillar 2 compliance for the Group
- Assist the group to comply with transfer pricing rules and plan comprehensive tax and transfer pricing strategies through the use of Organisation for Economic Cooperation (OECD) guidelines' and Singapore transfer pricing guidelines' methodologies.
- Manage all Singapore GST matters for the group ensuring tax compliance with GST regulations
- Provide advice on all tax matters including day-to-day tax planning and advisory / operational business support, review of commercial contracts and cross-border transactions, tax reporting and tax due diligence.
- Monitor and analyse the impact of proposed and newly enacted tax legislation on the business in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Identify tax efficient opportunities and assist with all aspects of tax strategy management, business acquisition and restructuring initiatives, tax efficient structuring and mitigation of tax risks.
- Support the tax provisioning process for the finance team.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in corporate and international shipping tax with prior experience in Big 4
- Familiar with Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Singapore Transfer Pricing guidelines.
- Degree in Accountancy or its' equivalent or any professional tax qualifications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with emphasis on ability to interpret and analyze relevant tax law and summarize findings in non-technical business language for management
- Proficient in use of Excel, Data analytics.
- Self-starter who is able to produce quality results and meet deadlines.
