Job Summary: As an Assistant Commercial Manager in Beng Kuang Group, you will provide crucial support in handling the commercial aspects of shipyard projects, including assisting with quotations, project costings, and contract management within Singapore and Indonesia.
You will work closely with the Commercial Manager and other internal teams to ensure the smooth execution of projects, accurate cost estimation, and profitability. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Quotation Support:
- Assist in preparing and reviewing quotations for shipyard projects, considering factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to gather necessary information for quotations.
- Conduct research to ensure competitive pricing and market analysis.
- Project Costing Assistance:
- Support the Commercial Manager in developing and maintaining project cost estimation models to ensure accurate project costings.
- Assist in analyzing project requirements, specifications, and scope to determine resource needs and cost implications.
- Collaborate with project teams to gather cost-related data and validate project budgets.
- Contract Management Support:
- Assist in reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to resolve contractual disputes and manage variations.
- Assist in monitoring contract performance, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon terms and conditions.
- Financial Analysis:
- Support the Commercial Manager in conducting financial analysis and feasibility studies for potential projects.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, forecasts, and budgetary recommendations for management.
- Stakeholder Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as project management, finance, and procurement, to gather relevant information and ensure smooth project execution.
- Assist in addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and change requests, in coordination with the Commercial Manager.
Requirements:
- Diploma and/or bachelor’s degrees in business administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Diplomas and/or bachelor’s degrees from engineering, offshore/shipyard or operations management are also suitable.
- Previous experience in a commercial or related role, preferably in the shipyard or maritime industry.
- Solid understanding of commercial and project management principles.
- Proficient in cost estimation, financial analysis, and budgeting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and contract management best practices.
- Proficient in using MS Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
