The Manager, IT DC Network is to effectively deliver stable, efficient, secure and best in class network
connectivity serving all business areas consuming network services, and to ensure that IT delivers
standardized systems and platforms for a stable, secure and efficient infrastructure for the Data Center
and other buildings.
The incumbent shall deliver IT systems to the business to efficiently support DC Operations, Security
Management and Data Center Delivery. The position shall enable the business areas responsible for, to
utilize the right IT solutions in the best manner in terms of efficiency and client focus.
Furthermore, this role shall define those standards for the IT infrastructure in alignment with all relevant
stakeholders including Security Management, Design & Engineering, Construction and Data Center
Delivery and he/she shall ensure compliance that these standards for both new buildings and retrofits are
implemented.
Main Responsibilities
- Technical and disciplinary management of the network team (Routers, Switches, WiFi, WAN lines, Rack and DC infrastructure, Network Access Control, DNS / DHCP / IP Address Management, Phone system (and telecom lines), Media and conference equipment) and DC IT infrastructure team.
- Responsible for the operation of the security systems in IT (Firewall, SIEM, VPN Gateway, Endpoint Protection, Vulnerability Scanner, Network Scan and Detection) as request and define by the IT Security team.
- Definition of IT standards for the areas of network, racks, cabling and construction requirements.
- Responsibility for the implementation according to the standard
- Responsibility for the management of purchasing as well as external suppliers
- Responsibility for adherence to schedules, especially timely ordering, and delivery.
- Reporting of status, projects, issues etc. to IT and Executive Management.
- Further development of the existing IT architecture
- Acting IT business partner for DC Operations, Security Management and Data Center Delivery
- Consult the business in the respective IT areas to identify best IT solutions to enhance business capabilities
- Management of group internal and external IT service providers and specialist groups
- Evaluation, coordination, and processing of change requests including demand management in those areas
- Responsibility for resource and delivery planning within the team
- Continuous improvement of existing processes and input in the definition of new processes
- Acting Project Manager within own area for bigger projects
- Central Budget Planning and Cost Control within own department to enhance overall efficiency
- Processing incidents and service requests in the ticket system (2nd level support)
- Participation in on-call duties
Professional Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree with a focus on (economic) computer science or equivalent work experience
- 5 or more years of professional experience in the area of network
- Experience in the management of a team would be beneficial but not mandatory
- Good communications and writing skills
