As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated Business Development Manager to drive client acquisition, build relationships, and educate business owners on trademark registration.


Job Overview:


We are looking for a Business Development Manager who thrives on networking, enjoys connecting with SME owners, and is eager to learn about trademark registration. This role is focused on client acquisition through networking, sales, and education, with full training provided on trademark basics.


The ideal candidate will be personable, clear in communication, and proactive in responding to client inquiries. While the standard work hours are 9am to 6pm, flexibility to respond to client inquiries in the evenings and weekends is required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Networking & Client Acquisition: Build and maintain relationships with SMEs across various industries. Generate leads and acquire clients through networking, events, and direct outreach.


  • Sales & Education: Identify and qualify potential leads within the SME sector. Introduce our trademark registration services and the benefits of trademark protection in a way that resonates with business owners, especially those who may be new to intellectual property concepts.


  • Seminars & Presentations: Plan and conduct informative seminars, webinars, and workshops targeted at SMEs. Lead discussions on trademark protection and intellectual property, answering questions, and providing valuable insights to both potential clients and business partners.


  • Client Onboarding & Handover: Assist in the smooth onboarding of new clients, guiding them through initial steps, gathering necessary information, and setting up consultations with our trademark specialists. Ensure a seamless transition from client acquisition to in-depth trademark registration consultations.


  • CRM & Lead Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, prospects, and leads through CRM tools. Monitor sales pipeline and performance metrics to ensure business growth targets are being met.


  • Collaboration: Work with our trademark specialists to ensure clients are well-supported throughout the process.


  • Market Insights: Stay informed about trends affecting small and medium businesses and their intellectual property needs. Gather feedback from clients and prospects to continuously refine our approach and offerings.


Key Requirements:


1. Experience:

  • 5-8 years of B2B sales experience in consultative sales roles with hands-on involvement from prospecting to closing to relationship management.
  • Experience of selling services related to intellectual property will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrable experience of deploying customer-driven approach and good customer management skills.

2. Communication and Customer Management Skills:

  • Excellent written and spoken English and Mandarin.
  • Comfortable conducting seminars and presenting to business owners.
  • Able to explain complex concepts in simple terms.
  • Able to communicate professionally and patiently with customers without hard selling.
  • Enjoys networking and establishing long-term professional relationships with SME decision-makers.

3. Self-Motivated & Goal-Oriented:

  • Driven to achieve sales targets and client acquisition goals. A self-starter who can manage their own time and priorities effectively while contributing to overall team success.

4. Willingness to Learn:

  • Quick to learn new information. Training will be provided.
  • Willing to diligently learn about company’s services and have a thorough understanding of how various companies can benefit from them.

5. Flexibility:

  • Open to responding to client inquiries outside of standard work hours (evenings and weekends).
