Job Title: Logistics Manager

Job Summary:
The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain
management process, ensuring efficient and effective distribution of products.
This role involves managing logistics, warehousing, transportation, and inventory
management to optimize the flow of goods and services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supply Chain Management:
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure efficient supply chain
operations.
- Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors to manage the
flow of goods.
2. Logistics Coordination:
- Plan and oversee the logistics of inbound and outbound shipments.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods to customers and maintain optimal inventory
levels.
3. Warehouse Management:
- Supervise warehouse operations including receiving, storage, and dispatch of
goods.
- Implement best practices for inventory control and warehouse layout.
4. Transportation Management:
- Manage transportation logistics to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery.
- Negotiate contracts with carriers and monitor transportation costs.
5. Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvements and implement changes to enhance
efficiency.
- Use data and analytics to track performance and make informed decisions.
6. Team Management:
- Lead and mentor the logistics team, providing guidance and support.
- Conduct performance reviews and develop training programs for staff
development.
7. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Maintain a safe working environment and promote safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business
Administration, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.
- Proven track record of managing logistics operations and leading teams.
- Knowledge of logistics software and tools (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP systems).
Skills:
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Professional certification such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or
Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
- Experience in [specific industry, e.g., retail, manufacturing, e-commerce].
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Occasional travel may be required.
