Responsibilities:
- Teach foundational literacy skills to children ages 2½ to 12.
- Conduct structured classes in reading, comprehension, and writing.
- Lead lessons in-centre and online, with travel to multiple locations as needed.
- Prepare lessons, grade assignments, and participate in curriculum planning.
- Communicate regularly with parents to report on student progress.
- Help create a positive, safe learning environment.
- Support open house events and other activities as needed.
Requirements:
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Teaching, Education, Early Childhood Studies, English, Literature, or Linguistics.
- Experience: Preferably two or more years in a teaching role, with experience in literacy or phonics instruction.
- English Proficiency: Fluent in English with clear articulation and strong command of grammar.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience engaging with parents.
- Flexibility: Willing to teach on Saturdays and Sundays and weekday evenings (Schedule: 3 Week Days: 1 pm to 9 pm; Saturdays and Sundays: 9 am to 6:30 pm).
- Professionalism: Team-oriented, collaborative, and committed to upholding high standards of integrity.
Additional Requirements:All candidates must complete a grammar proficiency test, scoring at least 85% to proceed to the interview stage.
