Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Storage Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level storage solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of storage technologies and will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of our storage infrastructure to support business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement storage solutions based on business and technical requirements.
- Manage, monitor, and maintain storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and cloud-based storage solutions.
- Perform storage provisioning, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Ensure data availability, integrity, and security across storage platforms.
- Automate storage management tasks using tools and scripting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate storage solutions with servers, databases, and applications.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data protection and disaster recovery readiness.
- Stay updated on emerging storage technologies and provide recommendations for system improvements.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of storage configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Storage Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, DAS, and object storage.
- Proficiency in storage platforms like Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, Hitachi, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with storage management tools and protocols (e.g., iSCSI, FC, NFS, CIFS).
- Familiarity with cloud storage solutions (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage).
- Experience with backup and recovery tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Veritas).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and their integration with storage solutions.
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Dell EMC Proven Professional, NetApp Certified, AWS Storage Specialty).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Knowledge of database storage requirements and optimization.
