Responsibilities:
- Design and implement robust, scalable data pipelines and architectures to support data ingestion, processing, and storage.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Utilize programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scala) to build data processing applications and automate data workflows.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Lead the integration of data from various sources into data lakes and warehouses, ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and workflows to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Mentor and guide junior data engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.
- Document data processes, data models, and architectural designs to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance with best practices.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering, big data, and cloud computing.
Skills/Requirement:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field, with a strong focus on data pipeline development and data architecture.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with writing and optimizing complex queries for large datasets.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, with experience in data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Flink).
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Kafka) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Solid understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing concepts, and data modeling best practices.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Bitbucket), CICD and agile methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with SQL, T-SQL, Teradata, Spark, Flink, Java/Python/Scala, shell script.
- Experience with orchestrating tool such as Control-M
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Qlikview, Power BI) and machine learning frameworks.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with data governance and data security best practices.
