Responsibilities:
- Identify and mitigate risks in contract terms, providing expert advice on contract clauses, obligations, and liabilities.
- Evaluate contractual risks and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, staying informed of changes in construction and contract law.
- Oversee the full contract lifecycle from initiation through project completion and closeout.
- Monitor contract performance to ensure deliverables meet quality, cost, and timeline requirements.
- Manage variations, claims, and scope changes, assessing their impact on contract terms and project objectives.
- Ensure contract budgets align with financial targets by tracking project expenses and revenue.
- Approve and process payments to contractors and subcontractors, ensuring accurate billing and invoicing.
- Serve as the main point of contact for contract matters with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Communicate contract requirements, modifications, and potential issues clearly to all stakeholders.
- Address conflicts and disputes that arise during project execution, collaborating with legal teams as needed.
- Ensure fulfillment of all contractual obligations, conducting regular compliance audits.
- Supervise and mentor junior contract managers, providing guidance on complex contract matters.
- Lead training sessions for the team on best practices in contract management, risk mitigation, and compliance.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
- At least 10 years of experience in contract management and administration, specifically in the construction industry
- Extensive expertise in contract negotiation and administration
- Relevant experience in both public and private sector projects in Singapore
- Experience managing subcontracts effectively
