About the role
Reporting to the Regional Credit Manager, this intern will be part of a larger team within the Asia Pacific Finance department, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to minimise company financial risk and assist in enforcing existing policies and procedures. This 6-month full-time internship commences December 2024/January 2025.
What you will be doing
- Ensure monthly Credit Management Reporting is submitted to Regional Management/HQ on timely basis
- Assist the Regional Credit Management team to request and pursue payment on delinquent/Close monitoring accounts via communication with account holder
- Review and update account status according to established guidelines
- Maintains log of payment promises and pertinent account details; schedules follow-up communication with account holder
- Responsible for handling the collection activity for delinquent accounts and enforcing collection policies & procedures
- Follow up with internal customers & external customers to ensure overdue amounts are paid promptly
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies relating to non-payment of invoices
- Prepare and send monthly statements of account & reminder letter to customers/internal customers
- Report and alert any exceptional and problematic customers and apply appropriate actions to minimize bad debt
- Liaise closely with Internal External customers, proactively build and foster strong relationships
- Other duties as assigned
The successful candidate
- At least a diploma or above (finance/accounting/business studies preferred)
- Knowledge in accounting would be advantageous
- Strong skills in excel / BI tools (e.g. Tableau)
- Self-Motivated, analytical mindset
- A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work well in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Independent and fast learner with minimum supervision
- Meticulous, organized, able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Possess good attitude and willingness to learn
