Job purpose
The Therapy Aide supports and assists Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist in carrying out the required therapy for the clients.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist the Therapists in carrying out therapy service to clients from any programme.
- Provide individual and group therapy uneder the supervision of the therapists.
- Participate in therapy related activities for the clients.
- Provide documentation support to the department and therapists.
- Conduct activities prescribed Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
- Report clients’ rehabilitation progress to Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
- Documentation of all activities conducted.
- Update monthly activity attendance.
- Display weekly activity schedule.
- Perform vital sign checks before conducting any activities.
- Assist in toileting when necessary.
- Maintain proper record and housekeeping of rehabilitation equipment and safety standards of the activity areas as well as the fittings & equipment.
- Other additional operational duties as assigned by Centre Manager.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Diploma/ HMI certificate in a related field
- WSQ qualification in Therapy
- At least 1 year of relevant experioence working in an elderly setting is an advantage
