We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook specializing in Chinese cuisine to join our restaurant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food preparation, possess extensive knowledge of traditional Chinese cooking techniques, and ensure high-quality dishes are consistently prepared. This role involves working in a fast-paced kitchen environment with a focus on delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and cook authentic Chinese dishes, including but not limited to stir-fried, steamed, and braised dishes.
2. Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standard, maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and portion size.
3. Oversee the quality of ingredients, ensuring freshness and proper storage.
4. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
5. Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the kitchen manager to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
6. Train and guide junior kitchen staff, sharing knowledge of traditional Chinese culinary techniques.
7. Work under time constraints to deliver orders promptly during peak hours.
8. Experiment and introduce innovative dishes while preserving the authenticity of Chinese cuisine.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a cook specializing in Chinese cuisine (5+ years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of traditional Chinese cooking methods, ingredients, and regional styles.
• Ability to handle a high-pressure kitchen environment with excellent time management.
• Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
