Red Cross Youth

The Red Cross Youth is a part of the Singapore Red Cross Society that specializes in developing the core values of compassion, professionalism, and passion in its youth volunteers. It was first established in 1952 and in 2024, it has amassed more than 5000 volunteers in Singapore. The Red Cross Youth currently consists of 4 different divisions: Red Cross Juniors, Uniformed Group, Chapters, and Youth @Community; each division targeting a different set of youths. All Red Cross Youth members and volunteers are also a part of the larger International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, as they are groomed to become the next generation of humanitarian leaders.

RCY Uniformed Group is a unit which focuses on nurturing young leaders through a structured curriculum centered on humanitarianism, community service, leadership, and personal development. The RCY UG has been a vital platform for nurturing the next generation of leaders and instilling values of passion, compassion, professionalism. The impact of RCY extends far beyond the activities themselves. It shapes the character and mindset of young people, preparing them to take on the world with a heart of service and a head for leadership.

Job Purpose

  • To support RCY Uniformed Group Unit and Campsite Team in their work processes involving and not limited to preparation for Cadets/Links School Events, Youth Camps and upkeeping Campsite’s operations and workshops/activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Logistics Coordination: Manage and prepare all logistical for events, including venue selection, catering, audio-visual requirements, transportation and deliveries
  • Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team / volunteers to promote events through various channels, including social media and email. Collaborate with volunteers to create collateral materials and ensure timely procurement and quality assurance
  • Events Management: Oversee event execution, ensuring all aspects run smoothly. Address any issues that arise in real-time or with the schools to guarantee a successful event. Collaborate with volunteers and ensure all events are executed on time
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including Schools, Volunteers and Vendors
  • Procurement: Oversee logistic procurement of events materials and ensure it is within budget and timeline
  • Portal Management: Oversee the overall functionality and performance of the online portal, ensuring it meets organizational goals and user needs.
  • User Support: Act as the primary point of contact for schools and volunteers, troubleshooting issues with vendors, and aiding enhance user experience.
  • Collaboration: Work with vendor to implement new features, updates, and improvements to the portal.
  • Training: Develop user guides, FAQs, and training materials. Conduct training sessions for schools as needed.
  • Data Entry: Enter and maintain data in portal, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Documentation: Prepare, edit, and maintain documents, reports, and presentations. Ensure proper filing and record-keeping systems are in place.
  • Data Entry: Enter and maintain data in databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Scheduling: Assist in managing calendars and scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for team members.
  • Storage/Storeroom Management: Oversee the organization of campsite storage areas and storerooms, ensuring safe storage practices. Establish and maintain an efficient inventory system, ensuring items are stored in their designated locations within the campsite storerooms. Keep accurate inventory records for effective tracking and management. Organize and coordinate logistics for packing and unpacking before and after events to ensure items are stored back proper for next event user.
  • Ensure the campsite and storage areas are clean, safe, and organized at all times.
  • Receiving Goods: Assist in receiving and verifying goods procured from all divisions upon delivery. Identify and report any discrepancies or damaged items promptly.

Job Specifications

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma, preferably in Event Management, Business Management or Facilities Management
  • 2 - 4 years of working experience
  • Must hold Valid Driving License
  • Previous working experience with Youths would be an advantage

Additional Skills and Knowledge

  • Good presentation and report writing skills
  • Excellent with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint)
  • Passionate about working with Youths
  • Administrative skills
