Singapore Red Cross Society

Singapore Red Cross Society company logo

Red Cross Youth

The Red Cross Youth is a part of the Singapore Red Cross Society that specializes in developing the core values of compassion, professionalism, and passion in its youth volunteers. It was first established in 1952 and in 2024, it has amassed more than 5000 volunteers in Singapore. The Red Cross Youth currently consists of 4 different divisions: Red Cross Juniors, Uniformed Group, Chapters, and Youth @Community; each division targeting a different set of youths. All Red Cross Youth members and volunteers are also a part of the larger International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, as they are groomed to become the next generation of humanitarian leaders.

RCY Chapter was first established in the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 1994 as an advanced CCA for members aged 17 to 25 years old to hone their skills in volunteerism and humanitarian knowledge. Today, there are 18 Chapters across tertiary educational institutions across Singapore from Universities to International Schools. Chapters aim to equip members with the ability to plan and execute programmes and initiatives that will be led by the youth members themselves with support from Red Cross Youth. Our support for Chapters include administrative and budget support, in addition to complimentary Standard First Aid and Psychosocial First Aid training support provided by us. Chapters also support SRC by leading volunteer initiatives for each community service programme under SRC.

RCY Youth @Community (Y@C) was formed to unite passionate young individuals, aged 9 to 35, who are eager to give back through volunteering with Red Cross Youth. Whether or not they have a Red Cross Youth unit at their school, or have graduated and want to continue contributing beyond campus, Y@C provides a welcoming platform for all. Our focus is on empowering youth-led initiatives, giving our members the support and space to develop their leadership skills while creating new, innovative ways to serve their communities. Together, we nurture the leaders of tomorrow through meaningful, impactful action.
