Cement truck drivers have many responsibilities, including:
- Driving: Transporting concrete from the batching plant to the job site
- Loading: Loading the truck with materials like cement, sand, gravel, and water
- Mixing: Operating the machinery to mix the materials into concrete
- Unloading: Safely unloading the concrete at the job site
- Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on the truck, including inspections, cleaning, and oil changes
- Customer service: Providing customer service and ensuring that Do's are signed and returned to the plant
- Safety: Following safety protocols and ensuring that the equipment is functioning properly
Cement truck drivers may also be required to: Assemble cement chutes, Spray the truck with a protective compound to prevent concrete from sticking, Carry out visual checks on concrete slumps, and Log mileage.
