Responsibilities:
- Follows up on the pre- and post-contract administration of projects assigned
- Prepares tender bid documents.
- Reviews work specifications, take-off quantity, costing and liaising with contractors and suppliers.
- Understands the contractual terms and works to ensure that other stakeholders such as Project Team Members, Accounts and Finance understand and comply with the terms.
- Assist the Senior/Commercial Managers with all daily commercial operations including coverage of duties in their absence.
- Provides effective support to Project Team and establishes good working relationship with Project Managers, Clients, contractors and sub-contractors;
- Assists in resolving contractual and commercial issues with clients, contractors and suppliers.
- Co-ordinates the procurement of materials and suppliers for the projects and ensuring expenses within budget.
- Assists in evaluating contractors and sub-contractors’ bids and recommends awards for contracts as appropriate;
- Monitors closely the project costs and puts up project cost reports on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis.
- Ensures effective cost control of projects and that all purchases are within budgets.
- Puts up budget reporting on a regular basis.
- Negotiates with vendors for cost reduction of purchases.
- Verifies all payments are in order before payments by Company.
- Monitors all payment collections.
- Performs closing of final account.
- Attends to all contract administration matters and maintains proper documentation of the project.
- Attend site and other meetings as required.
- Assists to coach and train junior Quantity Surveyors.
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying/Building Sciences/Engineering
- 4 to 6 years of professional working experience in quantity surveying
