JOB PURPOSE
To assist the Head Chef and supervisors in food preparation to ensure optimum services delivery to the internal and external customers
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Basic Food Preparation:
- Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients for dishes.
- Assist with simple cooking tasks like making soups, salads, and assembling side dishes.
Support in Food Donation Management:
- Help Cook 1 and 2 in sorting and storing food donations.
- Ensure that donated ingredients are stored correctly and used in a timely manner.
Kitchen Organization and Cleaning:
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment, assisting the kitchen assistant if necessary.
Inventory Support:
- Check and track the quantity of donated items used in daily cooking.
- Help monitor the stock of regularly used ingredients, communicating needs to Cook 2.
Food Safety and Hygiene:
- Follow food safety standards for all kitchen tasks.
- Maintain personal hygiene and wear protective gear as required.
Requirements:
- At least primary school level of education
- Able to stand, lift, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Willingness to work closely with kitchen staff and take direction.
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and maintain a clean workspace.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in food preparation.
