JOB PURPOSE

To assist the Head Chef and supervisors in food preparation to ensure optimum services delivery to the internal and external customers


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Basic Food Preparation:

  • Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients for dishes.
  • Assist with simple cooking tasks like making soups, salads, and assembling side dishes.

Support in Food Donation Management:

  • Help Cook 1 and 2 in sorting and storing food donations.
  • Ensure that donated ingredients are stored correctly and used in a timely manner.

Kitchen Organization and Cleaning:

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment, assisting the kitchen assistant if necessary.

Inventory Support:

  • Check and track the quantity of donated items used in daily cooking.
  • Help monitor the stock of regularly used ingredients, communicating needs to Cook 2.

Food Safety and Hygiene:

  • Follow food safety standards for all kitchen tasks.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and wear protective gear as required.

Requirements:

  • At least primary school level of education
  • Able to stand, lift, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work closely with kitchen staff and take direction.
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely and maintain a clean workspace.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in food preparation.
