Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Environmental Consultant, the Associate Consultant’s main responsibility will be to prepare environmental impact assessment proposals and reports and undertake environmental monitoring and management plans with a focus on biodiversity, while assisting in other environmental business areas in Singapore and across Southeast Asia (i.e., EIA, EBS, EMMP).


Job Responsibilities

· Conduct biodiversity surveys, coordinate with internal team and external subcontractors, assist in project proposal preparation.

· Support in environmental projects such as EIA, EBS, EMMP, report writing, and monitoring field works for Singapore and International Projects.

· Carry out monitoring and assessments for other environmental aspects of the business (i.e., water quality, air and noise quality, soil);

· Project management and liaison with client, project team and government authorities.

· Providing technical and regulatory support for ESC country-based teams in Asia.

· Supporting the Country Manager to build upon the existing regional business and cross sell other ESC technical disciplines to clients.


Job Requirements

· Open to fresh graduates, or with 1-2 years’ experience in an environmental consulting environment. Working experience in a consultant firm with exposure to biodiversity monitoring would be an advantage.

· Field experience in conducting biodiversity surveys is advantageous.

· Familiarity with at least one area of biodiversity e.g., flora, fauna, is advantageous.

· Knowledge of Singapore’s Environmental Laws and Regulations, BIA guidelines, PUB and NEA guidelines etc.

· Strong analytical, planning and project management skills.

· Ability to exercise discretion on complex & sensitive issues.

· Ability to work well in a team with diverse backgrounds.

· Excellent reporting and communication skills (experience in liaison with Singapore government authorities is advantageous)

· MS Office and/or QGIS knowledge and skills are advantageous.

· Tertiary qualifications, minimum BEng/BSc in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Biology, or Landscape Ecology.
