Role Summary/Purpose
The Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Specialist will be responsible for collaborating with onsite operations to ensure the safe execution of tasks and compliance with applicable HSE procedures and regulatory requirements.
The individual will work directly with the Site Operations Leader and the IVG HSE Director or designee to align with the business HSE priorities and strategies.
Essential Responsibilities
The HSE Specialist will provide technical advice to efficiently manage all Health, Safety & Environmental programs and compliance requirements. Key duties include:
- Collaborating with the local Operations Leader to implement HSE procedures.
- Engaging with employees and contractors to ensure adherence to safety practices.
- Assisting the Operations Leader in promoting a strong HSE culture and enabling business growth through risk management and control processes.
- Identifying and reporting any regulatory compliance issues.
- Facilitating risk assessments and management.
- Promoting a culture of safety observations and near-miss reporting.
- Participating in incident investigations, site audits/inspections, and collaborating with operations teams to close corrective actions.
- Completing all required metrics, such as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), using company systems (e.g., Intelex).
Qualifications/Requirements
- Proven experience in occupational safety and health and environmental management.
- A minimum of 5 years of HSE experience.
- HSE professional certifications, such as NEBOSH or equivalent (HSE Certification for Oil and Gas Industries).
- Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies.
- Knowledge of lifting and rigging safe practices.
