Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Review risk acceptability to make subjective decisions based on underwriting guidelines; ensuring standards for compliance and regulations are met
- Identify trends and opportunities, develop and service main accounts
- Develop on-going relationships with intermediaries and business partners for new business growth and renewal retention, ensuring a profitable book of motor business
- Review and update P&C products offerings, value-add services, underwriting guidelines.
- Perform P&C underwriting that is within the capacity.
- Handles enquiries as required and support other members of the team and work closely with producers to achieve department targets
- Network within the insurance community to stay abreast of changes within the industry
- Perform other functions or tasks assigned from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree/ Professional qualification
- At least 5 years of relevant experience
- Familiar with local market mechanism and practices
- Preferably some working knowledge in underwriting, product rating and pricing methodology
- Demonstrated sound judgement and initiative in working within underwriting guidelines
- Ability to develop and foster relationships within and outside the company and interact effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Dynamic, organized and possess good written and oral communication skills
- Candidate with underwriting knowledge in Bonds and Engineering risk is preferred
