Naval Architect
Please note, candidates must be able to communicate in Chinese, as the successful candidate will be required to travel to China for a business trip.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct mooring analyses, installation analyses, riser analyses, sea fastening design, and diffraction analysis.
- Deliver engineering deliverables to support specific projects either independently or through the management of internal and external resources.
- Develop operational procedures for offshore utilization.
- Identify equipment requirements for projects, including rigging design, and interface with sales and/or rental departments for procurement and delivery.
- Develop mobilization and demobilization plans.
- Create, maintain, and report project schedules as required.
- Attend meetings with clients and sub-contractors.
- actively participate in HIRAs and QHSE-related activities.
- Produce scopes of work for sub-contractors.
- Attend and oversee offshore operations during execution phases to ensure adherence to procedures and guidelines.
- Travel offshore and internationally as required.
Qualification:
- Honours degree accredited by the Engineering Council in Naval Architecture.
- Classification of at least 2:1, although relevant experience may be accepted in exceptional circumstances.
- Five years of post-graduate experience, which can be reduced if other relevant experience can be demonstrated.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience working within the Energy Industry, specifically Oil and Gas or Renewables.
- Competency in a mooring analysis software with a knowledge of Orcaflex, Ariane, Hydrostar, Moses, GMOOR (or similar) being advantageous.
- Project experience coupled with business acumen, the ability to apply knowledge, and the confidence to take action as required.
- Strong leadership skills with a willingness to further develop themselves and the assigned team.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms with highly effective inter-personal skills supported by good attention to detail.
- Ability to travel offshore and internationally as required.
Working Hours:
- 5-day work week (Monday to Friday) 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Transport:
- Company-provided transport: A bus departs near Clementi MRT Station at 8:10 AM to bring staff to the office. Return transport: A company bus is available to take staff back to Clementi in the evening.
