Responsibilities:
- Identify, source, and procure spare parts and components for port equipment, machinery, and systems (e.g., cranes, container handling equipment, conveyor systems, etc.), ensuring availability when required.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers for spare parts. Negotiate contracts, prices, lead times, and terms of delivery to ensure the best value and timely delivery.
- Manage and optimize spare parts inventory, ensuring the right balance between stock levels and operational needs. This includes maintaining an inventory of critical spare parts for emergency repairs and routine maintenance.
- Develop and manage budgets for spare parts procurement, ensuring cost-effective purchasing while maintaining the required quality and reliability of parts.
- Ensure that all procured spare parts meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. This may involve working closely with engineers and technical teams to assess the specifications and compatibility of parts.
- Provide technical advice and support to maintenance teams, engineers, and other stakeholders on spare parts selection, technical specifications, and troubleshooting issues related to equipment and machinery.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, including purchase orders, invoices, delivery schedules, and warranty information. Generate reports on procurement activity, stock levels, and cost analysis for management review.
- Coordinate the logistics of spare parts delivery, ensuring timely arrival of parts, resolving any delays or issues with shipping, and ensuring parts are delivered to the appropriate locations (on-site or warehouses).
- Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to forecast future spare parts needs based on equipment lifecycle, maintenance schedules, and operational demands. Develop long-term plans for parts procurement.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure that they consistently meet company's requirements for lead time, quality, and service. Address any issues related to supplier delays, quality concerns, or failures to meet specifications.
Requirements:
- Higher NITEC / NITEC in Mechanical Technology or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years' experience in NDT works
- Possess NDT Level 2 Certificate in MPT
- Those with NDT Level 2 Certificate in UT and PT or welding experience will have an added advantage
