RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is for Office of Admissions and Financial Assistance (OAFA).

Main liaison officer for verification of documents

  • Manage and ensure accuracy of high school results.
  • Process and verified standardised test scores.

Main liaison officer for student pass applications

  • Managing and processing student pass applications.
  • Monitoring student's completion of administration matters for their student pass applications.
  • Monitoring the issuance of In-Principle Approval (IPA) letters from Immigrant Checkpoint Authority (ICA).
  • Ensure students secure e-appointments with ICA to collect their student passes.
  • Managing students appointments for ICA off-site verification process.

Handle admissions matters for the Economics. This includes:

  • Reviewing each application individually to verify the authenticity and accuracy of applicants' high school results and other relevant details.
  • Setting up and hosting virtual Zoom sessions for SOE faculty members to conduct applicant interviews.
  • Contacting applicants to inform them of their scholarships outcomes.
  • Contacting applicants to inform them of their interview dates/times.
  • Handling applicants' requests to change programme / appeal their admissions decision.
  • Updating of applications on SMU's applications portal.
  • Handling applicants' queries.

To support key outreach events such as the Schools' Learning Journeys to SMU, school fairs or booths in Junior Colleges and Polytechnics, SMU Poly Day, Scholarship Showcase, SMU IB Day and other signature admissions events.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma or Degree with at least 2 years of work experience.
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to respond to different types of personalities.
  • Knowledge of and interest in SMU will be an advantage.
  • Proficient with Office tools such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Proficient with technology tools such as Zoom, and willing to learn new systems.
  • Good communication skills and enjoy talking to people.
  • Meticulous, with strong administrative skills and the ability to multi-task across different projects.

Candidates who do not possess the stipulated qualifications but have relevant work experience may still apply. Remuneration and appointment terms shall commensurate with qualifications and experience. SMU reserves the right to modify the appointment terms where necessary.
