The Part-time Monitor/Teacher's Assistant supports the classroom teacher in the delivery of quality teaching and learning to all students through administrative support, maintenance of classroom organisation and procedures, emotional support to students, communicating with teachers and adhering to school’s policies and procedures. The particularity of the Part-time Monitor is that her working hours with the children are mostly around the lunch break, as she comes into the classroom to substitute the Teacher's Assistant who takes her lunch break.

Duties:
- Supervise and accompany the children during recess, meals, some activities, nap time, when the buses arrive and when they depart from school, help them with dressing, undressing, and changing when and where needed (with a follow-up on autonomy development); Prepare snack and mealtime, assist when and where needed.
- Ensure that personal hygiene and safety rules are respected in all pertinent places such as the classrooms, stairs, corridors, playground etc.; Clean, tidy up and store the school’s equipment throughout the day, as well as at the end of the day.
- Maintain classroom organization and procedures (including supervision and rest time) as indicated by teacher: preparate and supervise activities, maintain classroom stationery, store student work in order.
- Instigate preventative measures to minimise accidents in the classroom and other areas.
- Reinforce children’s positive attitudes and behaviour.
- Refer parents to teacher with specific enquiries regarding education, welfare, social and emotional development, student interactions and concerns.
- Participate in meetings and trainings according to the school calendar.
- Support and implement the policies of LPE: Understand and work in accordance with the school policies and procedures, including LPE code of conducts and dress standards.
- Other duties entrusted by the School Principal.
Required qualifications and skills:
- A minimum Diploma in Early Childhood or similar
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in working with children (aged 2.5-11) in a school or day care environment international experience highly regarded
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
- Further qualifications in Early Childhood would be an advantage.

Work time for Part-time Monitor/Teacher's Assistant position:
- Monday to Thursday: from 11am to 1pm
- Friday: from from 11am to 3pm
Work time for full-time Teaching Assistant position (for information only):
- Monday to Thursday: from 8:15am to 3:45pm (including 45 minutes of lunch break)
- Friday: from 8:15am to 3pm (45 minutes of lunch break)
