Your new role
Here is a summary of the role you are applying for;
They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Team Lead to join their team. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective maintenance of plant and equipment to achieve high reliability and availability. You will lead a team of maintenance professionals, coordinate maintenance programs, and optimize planned maintenance activities. Additionally, you will troubleshoot faults, perform failure analysis, and implement plant improvement projects to enhance overall plant performance.
Below are some of the key responsibilities for the role;
- Lead and manage a team of maintenance professionals to ensure effective maintenance of plant and equipment
- Coordinate and optimize planned maintenance activities, including scheduled plant inspections and maintenance programs
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and safety requirements
- Troubleshoot faults, perform failure analysis, and recommend corrective actions
- Implement plant improvement projects to enhance plant reliability, availability, and performance
- Supervise maintenance contract works and prepare technical specifications for equipment parts and services
- Manage procurement and track expenditure against approved department budget
- Develop and maintain a safety mindset and display good workplace safety behaviour
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate, should have;
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent recognized by the Professional Engineers Board
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience in plant maintenance from the Power or Oil and Gas industries
- Sound Mechanical engineering maintenance knowledge
- Good knowledge of safety and statutory requirements
- Self-motivated team player with analytical mind, strong planning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and lead day-to-day activities
- Willingness to be part of the CERT team and participate in emergency responses as required
