Responsibilities
To lead and conduct classes under the direction and supervision of the Head of EIPIC / Manager:
- Assess the developmental needs of the children and plan Individual Educational Programme (IEP) to address the needs of the children.
- Monitor, assess, record and report the development and progress of the children.
- Conduct case conferences with parents and other relevant professionals.
- Plan, facilitate and evaluate quality intervention strategies.
- Create developmentally and culturally appropriate classroom activities, experiences and environments for the children.
- Conduct individual and group activities (including field trips) for the children.
- Maintenance of the classrooms to ensure cleanliness and safety of the environment.
- Facilitate the process of sourcing, purchasing, creating and inventory of all equipment, teaching aids and resources in the classroom.
- To work collaboratively with colleagues including other teachers and therapists.
- To guide parents and caregivers in executing intervention and development strategies for the children.
- To maintain regular contact with parents and caregivers through the various communication modalities.
- To conduct sharing or training on topics related to teaching during in-house teacher training sessions, and topics relevant to caregivers during caregiver support programme.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood/ Pre-School Teaching/ Early Years/ Special Education, with relevant teaching experience.
- Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) will be preferred.
- Strong interest and commitment in working with children with developmental / special needs
- Minimum of 1 year of paediatric working experience in the same or relevant setting will be preferred.
