Reporting to the Assistant Plant General Manager, this position will drive the establishment and execution of plant business targets. The role encompasses leading as a Project Manager for the introduction of cutting-edge production technologies and managing plant challenges with strategic support from Japan Headquarters (HQ). This role will be instrumental in the commissioning and commercialisation of new production lines.
Responsibilities:
- Manage plant operations, technical, and laboratory-related issues essential for seamless plant operations
- Cultivate and enhance team members’ expertise and capabilities, driving the continuous implementation of the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle across all departments
- Strategically manage the commissioning and commercialisation of new plant projects
- Responsible for defining project scopes, objectives, action plans and performance measuring criteria, and ensure the completion of project deliverables according to required standards and expectations
- Support design reviews and manage change processes for new plant initiatives
- Lead task forces and collaborate with HQ in Japan to overcome plant challenges
- Oversee comprehensive analysis, reporting, and follow-up on plant challenges and countermeasures
- Innovate and implement transformative work process enhancements
- Instill a culture of heightened safety awareness among all plant members
- Ensure flawless trial operations through rigorous preparation and execution oversight
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with 10 to 15 years relevant working experience in elastomer plant operations
- At least 5 years of working experience as a Process Engineer in an elastomer plant will be preferred
- R&D experience in elastomer production technology is advantageous
- Effective team player, strong leadership and communication skills
- Self-motivated, independent and resourceful
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Proficient in Japanese language as the role is required to collaborate closely with counterparts and understand the Company policies and standards from Japan HQ
