Assistant Manager - International Trade (Exports and Imports)

Overall - To expand Export volume and improve profitability for NSH


· Formulate business strategies and execute sales plan to achieve desired market share, revenue, and profit.

· Identify new opportunities; develop new business and customers in existing and new market segments.

· Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, customer needs, and cultural specifics of target markets.

· Build strong relationships with international clients, distributors, and business partners.

· Handle customer queries, resolve issues, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.

· Negotiate contracts and agreements with overseas customers

· Manage all sales-related activities including proposal preparation, contract and terms negotiation, cost analysis, coordination with production, shared services, and logistics teams for on-time delivery.

· Ensure compliance with international trade laws and regulations, including tariffs, import/export restrictions, and documentation requirements.

· Ensure consistent adherence to international clients' pricing policies, promotional offers, and discount structures.

· Build brand recognition in target markets and promote products/services to a broader audience

· Ensure alignment of export sales strategies with overall company goals.


Imports


Overall - To source for competitive prices for NSH’s requirements


· Gather market intelligence on the price trend and market development such as international pricing, trend, offer prices to Singapore as well as volume secured by local competitors

· Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and establish long-term relationships.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.

· Negotiate contracts, terms, pricing, and conditions of purchase with suppliers.

· Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting imports and ensure company policies are adapted accordingly.

· Ensure all imported goods meet the company’s quality standards and comply with local regulations.

· Manage all import-related activities including contract and terms negotiation, cost analysis, coordination with production, shared services, and logistics teams for on-time delivery.

· Establish strong connections and networks with traders and steel mills

· Source and secure competitive prices for NSH requirements


Job Requirements

  • Degree in Business or International Trade
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years experiences in trading and export sales
  • In dept knowledge of shipping, banking and logistics
  • Strong communication skills, analytical and negotiation skills
  • Bilingual in both interpersonal and written skills in English and Mandarin
  • Able to travel within short notice period
