To transport goods efficiently and safely to designated locations while ensuring compliance with traffic and safety regulations, and maintaining the vehicle in good condition.
Key Responsibilities
Safe TransportationDrive the lorry responsibly and ensure goods are delivered to customers or locations on time and in excellent condition.
Adhere to road safety laws and company policies during transportation.
Goods HandlingLoad and unload goods with care, ensuring the proper handling of fragile or sensitive items.
Verify items against delivery orders to ensure accuracy before departure and at delivery points.
Route PlanningPlan the most efficient and safe delivery routes, considering traffic, road conditions, and delivery deadlines.
Use navigation tools and company-provided systems for guidance.
Vehicle MaintenanceConduct daily inspections of the lorry to ensure it is in good working condition (e.g., brakes, tires, lights).
Report mechanical issues promptly to the logistics/maintenance team.
Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the vehicle interior and exterior.
Documentation and CommunicationComplete delivery logs, mileage records, and fuel consumption reports.
Communicate with dispatchers or supervisors regarding delays, accidents, or issues during the journey.
Customer ServiceProvide excellent customer service by being polite and professional at delivery points.
Handle customer queries or issues related to deliveries efficiently and escalate if needed.
Adherence to Safety StandardsFollow company protocols and wear appropriate safety gear during loading/unloading.

Qualifications and Requirements
